Humorist Harrison Scott Key says that getting married is fun, but to be married, you have to be insane. He describes staying married to his wife for more than 20 years as the hardest thing he has ever done and shares their powerful story of infidelity, truth-seeking and forgiveness. Harrison Scott Key is the author of three books, including How to Stay Married, The World’s Largest Man (winner of the Thurber Prize for American Humor) and Congratulations, Who Are You Again?, which served as the inspiration for his 2019 TEDxSavannah talk, “The Funny Thing About the American Dream.” Harrison’s work has appeared in The Best American Travel Writing, The New York Times, Oxford American, Outside, Garden & Gun, The Bitter Southerner, Town & Country and Reader’s Digest. He serves as an Executive Dean at the College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia, where he lives with his wife and three children. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
