Unfortunately, disturbingly little research exists on how to
manage all this damage. In one of the few studies on coping
with narcissistic coworkers, people reported using five tactics most frequently: ignoring, confronting, befriending, quitting, and informing management. Those who relied on informing management or quitting seemed pleased with how things turned out, but the same couldn’t be said for those who tried ignoring, confronting, or befriending. These strategies, they reported, got them nowhere. So what the best way to cope in the workplace?
