“Repentance: the Key,” is a poignant spiritual essay from the Lebanese Christian Diplomat Charles Malik.

Throughout his decades-long career, Malik steeped himself in scripture, reading 10 chapters from both the Old and New Testaments daily.

This deep rooting in the Bible anchored him in times of chaos and gave him eyes to see creative solutions to some of the modern world’s most challenging problems.

He meditated extensively on matters of faith and spirituality and came to believe that without repentance on the personal level, there could be no rejuvenation on the cultural or political levels.

During this Lenten season, as we examine our consciences and prepare for Easter, our Charles Malik Institute was joined by Malik’s son, Habib, to consider the enduring wisdom of “Repentance: the Key.”
