February 6, 2018. Cape Canaveral Florida. The Spacex Falcon is set to launch on its maiden voyage. Mission: Demonstrate the heavy payload capacity which will be necessary to eventually transport all of the necessary materials into orbit that will start building a colony on Mars. Interestingly enough, In case you missed it, onboard Falcon Heavy was Elon Musk's daily driver Tesla Roadster occupied by none other than “Starman” A space suit wearing mannequin who was to be launched into orbit around the sun. As an added flex , Elon Musk being a huge David Bowie fan insisted that the song "Starman" be played in a constant loop during Starman’s orbit.

Needless to say the launch was a success and Starman is currently in orbit some 99 billion miles away from the sun and moving toward the star at a speed of over 12,000 mph and his Tesla Roadster has now exceeded its 36, 000 mile warranty 39,000 times and it’s journey can be tracked in real time via the website whereisroadster.com.

As if the successful launch of Falcon Heavy and Starman weren’t noteworthy enough, they pale in comparison to Elon’s actual full working plan to colonize Mars.

In September 2016 he took to the stage under a large globe of Mars at the 67th International Astronautical Congress, and unveiled his vision for a giant rocket that would propel people to the Red Planet "in our lifetime." It was there where he foretold this maiden launch of Falcon Heavy along with other details of his vision. As they say, the best way to predict the future is to create it.
