In this episode I talk about how I made a display stand for my Hordes army. The original plan was to make it all with a laser cutter, but I switched to 3D printing for the support columns when laser cutting acrylic rod didn't work well. I'm glad I switched, because the sculpted columns printed in color changing filament are beautiful! I talk about designing the stand in Adobe Illustrator and Blender, about cutting and printing the components, and assembly. This project is a great example of how making and design are iterative processes, and the more tools and skills you have available, the larger the number of options that are open to you. Sometimes something totally unexpected occurs!
