The team behind Neil Armstrong biopic “First Man,” including Ryan Gosling, Claire Foy, director Damien Chazelle, writer Josh Singer and composer Justin Hurwitz, took time to discuss the film as part of Variety’s Screening Series.

Claire Foy, who plays Armstrong’s wife Janet, expressed her appreciation that director Damien Chazelle and writer Josh Singer “realized that there was something more interesting that Janet had to offer in life that needed to be shown.”

Singer explained that he and Chazelle were struck how by the story was one of “grief.”
