Godzilla Vs Kong!

The monster smackdown of the century is upon us, available on Video On Demand or even in your actual, literal, genuine IRL cinematic theatrical venues - please do exercise caution if you are considering taking a trip to the movies, though. Directed by Adam Wingard and written by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein, it stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Julian Dennison and Kyle Chandler.

Ever since they first faced off in goofy rubber suits in 1962’s Toho romp King Kong Vs Godzilla, we’ve been waiting for the rematch. And it seems that in these pandemic times, everybody wants a bit of a kaiju brawl to distract ourselves - the movie is doing well so far, with a current worldwide gross of over $300 million. That makes it the highest grossing movie since the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis, handily stomping over Christopher Nolan’s Tenet.

But of course, Godzilla Vs Kong is the fourth in the Monsterverse - or the Godzilla Extended Universe, if you will - after Godzilla in 2014, Kong: Skull Island in 2017 and Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019. And across those four movies, there have been a number of Titans stomping across our screens, destroying buildings, people, tanks, aircraft carriers and each other.

In this video, we’re looking at every Titan who has been defeated in the Monsterverse so far, and seeing whether they did themselves and their giant prehistoric brothers and sisters proud.
