TV-am was a TV company that broadcast the ITV franchise for breakfast television, in the United Kingdom from 1 February 1983 until 31 December 1992. The station was the UK's first national operator of a commercial Breakfast television franchise. Its daily broadcasts were between 6am to 9.25am.

In this clip from Friday 20th July 1990 we join the programme during the "After Nine" segment, presented on this occasion by Cathy Tayler, featuring astrologer Russell Grant, fitness by Lizzie Webb and a regular cookery slot. Cathy is rejoined before the programme close by Good Morning Britain presenters Mike Morris and Lorraine Kelly; a special news report is read by Lisa Aziz.

Look out for former Eastenders star Joe Absolom in the tv-am adbreak.

Our clip continues with opening continuity from Yorkshire Television before Andy Crane (formerly of Children's BBC) introduces animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
