Helen Hunter is the Group Chief Data Officer at Sainsbury’s. She has worked at Sainsbury’s for almost nine years, and was the organisation’s first ever Data Officer when she was appointed in December 2018. She worked at various organisations within retail prior to joining Sainsbury’s, where she also worked as a Director of Innovation.

In this video, Helen explains how she’s made using data central to the mission of Sainsbury’s – fostering a culture of experimental curiosity within a new Sainsbury’s Tech team, encouraging customer feedback and actively listening from it. She explains how she’s focused on driving structural changes within the organisation, and making sure that the vast treasure troves of data that Sainsbury’s collects goes to good use.
