Pro-Palestine protests rocked New York's Columbia University on 17 April, after students launched the 'Gaza Solidarity Encampment', erecting over 30 camps on the varsity campus and rallying for Palestinian freedom. While regular stirs were being held on campus since the Israel-Palestine War broke out on 7 October 2023, protests gained momentum the day university president Minouche Shafik testified about "on-campus antisemitism" at a congressional hearing on 17 April. Over 100 protesting students have been arrested so far by the New York Police Department (NYPD), further leading to widespread agitations at universities across the US. What happened? Watch.
