A 70-year old seven minute clip of one of the most famous road course races in America. Featuring famous post war drivers - Miles Collier, Fred Whacker, Cameron Argetsinger, William Milikin, George Huntoon, Briggs Cunningham, Sam Collier and many more. Over 100 race cars entered. Briggs Cunningham's Le Monstre fresh from it's first race at Lemans leads the parade. Cadillac Allard J2, Ferrari 166 MM, MG TC, Bugatti, Masarati, Healy Silverstone, Jaguar, BMW, Fiats, Ala Romeo... simply amazing! I found this unlabeled, unidentified film among a batch I purchased a few years ago, several days of research led me to the discovery that I was looking at important racing history. Very little footage exists of Watkins Glen's 1948-55 public roads racing era.
