Waipoo Falls - One of the Most Popular Hikes on Kauai

We set out to hike one of the most popular hikes on Kauai. Waipoo Falls is a hike in the Waimea Canyon that features an amazing waterfall. Waipoo Falls is an 800-foot cascading waterfall in the Kokee Stream.

The hike begins with a steep descent on a muddy trail. There are many trees down across the trail which can make it quite tricky. Other than the slick mud and the down trees, this trail is fairly easy and would be a great stop on your trip to Kokee State Park.

We started our hike around 8:30 AM and we only saw 3 people but when we turned around to head back at 10 AM we saw a total of 60 people! From the waterfall to the trailhead. You'll want to start this hike early especially if it's during the busy season or on a weekend.

The hike was a total of 3.1 miles when you go to the canyon lookout or 2.8 miles if you go straight to the waterfall.
