In this episode of Lives of The Khulafaa, Shaykh Dr Yasir Qadhi covers the life of Az Zubayr Ibn Al Awwam, the sixth companion from the ten that was promised paradise(Ashara Mubashara)

The Shaykh starts off by explaining the lineage of Az Zubayr Ibn Al Awwam. Indeed he was related to the Prophet(S) from multiple ways. First & foremost, from his father’s side, he links with the Prophet(S) from the fifth generation. Moreover, both him and Uthman was from this generation. From his mother's’ side, he is one of the closest to the Prophet(S). Even though his father is “Al-A’waam”, his mother is Safiyyah, the daughter of Abdul Muttalib, also the aunt of the Prophet(S). So Zubayr is uniquely the first cousin of Prophet Muhammad(S).
