On September 16, 2023, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum ran its first Summerville Steam Special down to Summerville, GA after four years. What made this even more special was that they ran a doubleheader with #630 and #4501 to mark the triumphant return of steam to the foothills of northwest Georgia. Rail enthusiasts from across the country came to witness the spectacle as well as the many locals in the multiple small, historic towns the railroad passes through on the way to Summerville. While the weather wasn't the most ideal, it didn't stop me or many others from chasing the Southern Railway duo down into Georgia and back.
