As its citizens vote to incorporate, a new era is ushered in for Bonita Springs, Florida. This once tiny fishing village is now faced with preserving its past despite tremendous growth and shifting demographics. The story picks up in the 1960's as this small town struggles to rebuild after Hurricane Donna's fury, but it is the building of Interstate 75 that will have lasting effects.

The sunshine state has a rich and colorful history. For hundreds of years the state has attracted dreamers, opportunists, inventors and fortune-seekers. WGCU's Untold Stories aims to preserve the history of Southwest Florida communities.
