After almost two years I returned to the Wilmington & Western Railroad for their Doodlebug Days event. The Wilmington & Western is more known for their steam Locomotives and SW1 diesels but every so often they let the ex PRR Doodlebug out for rides along the red clay creek. Built in 1929 #4662 is one of few operating PRR Locomotives and one of only two surviving Doodlebugs. Unfortunately at the end of the day #4662 gave up and broke down at the end of the station platform and had to be rescued by B&O 8408 a 1940 built EMD SW1. If you're ever in the Wilmington Philadelphia area I highly recommend you visit The Wilmington & Western it is a very scenic ride and all of the volunteers are very friendly.
