When Joni Eareckson Tada first broke her neck and became paralyzed at age 17, she fell into despair and self-pity. She couldn’t imagine that God had a good plan for her life. She wanted physical healing, to be free from her disability. Instead God worked through Joni’s disability, through her Christian friends, and through the Bible to give Joni new life in him—and a new heart.

For more than five decades Joni has lived with quadriplegia and chronic pain. Through it she's found contentment in Jesus and allowed him to work in and through her life, reaching millions of suffering people with the powerful message of Christ.
