What is amazing about Google Sites is that the design is quite stunning if you know what you're doing. You can create a website on par with Squarespace without the Squarespace price. The main drawback of Google Sites? Mediocre (and that is being generous) SEO.

Your Google Site will simply have difficult getting traffic. Again, Google Sites is not designed for that sort of thing.

Then we have blogger.com. The original blogging platform. The platform that inspired Matt Mullenweg to create WordPress out of frustration with Blogger. Blogger is designed for blogging. With the right control over your on-page SEO and some decent enough looking templates you can actually build a passive income website using blogger.com

The last pro of both of these platforms that should be mention is FREE hosting. If you've been wanting to start a casual, personal blog that could make a bit of money from AdSense and affiliate marketing that has no hosting costs, Blogger is decent option.
