The song is quoting an episode described in the “Skáldskaparmál” from Snorri’s Edda, where Loki challenged the dwarf Brokkr and his brother Eitri (or Sindri) to forge better gifts for the gods than the ones he had brought. Realising they were going to win, he tried to prevent them from finishing their works by turning into a fly and biting Brokkr repeatedly.

I know a transcription in runes of such a text doesn’t really have any reason to be, if not as a treat, but yeah…that’s just what it is, bear with me.
