In this video I cover how to improve your audio quality on YouTube (on a budget)! There are a number of different approaches you can take to improve the quality of your audio without breaking the bank. One of the best ways to improve your video's sound affordably is to use lavalier microphones (also known as lapel mics) that can plug into your phone or the camera itself. You also can externally record your audio using a field recorder. My personal favorite is the Zoom H1n. Throughout the video, I cycle through each of the audio options so you can hear and compare the differences in their audio quality. If you're looking for budget approaches to get better sound in your YouTube videos, these options range from as little as $17 for a lavalier microphone that plugs into your phone to $26 for a lavalier microphone that can plug straight into your camera, to $115 for one of the most affordable field recorders on the market, where you can record your audio externally from your camera's built-in microphone and have multi-channel recordings.
