I traveled to Colorado to do a collaboration with a blacksmith of 30 years, John with Black Bear Forge. John is a excellent teacher and has a great channel where he teaches you everything you need to know about being a blacksmith. Check it out

We decided to forge a blacksmithing hammer out of 1045. I had a blast hanging out with John and I learned so much. This is the first time that I have ever used a power hammer, hydraulic press, treadle hammer and for that matter a real anvil. I also had the chance to try johns 3x132 belt grinder which is the largest grinder I have ever used. I will be posting a part 2 to this video where I will finish the hammer and put a handle on it.
