There’s this idea (prevalent among caregivers of small-humans) that once you set a limit or boundary - that the child always has the capacity to follow directions - especially without help.

Blerg. That will set up any parent for self-sabotage, as expecting kids to be mature when their very nature is to be immature is a recipe for disappointment.

Yes, they sometimes get it right. No, it won’t always be this way. But watch the clip for the real foundation of all the “good behavior” we want to see.
