I didn't really have a plan for this lure aside from wanting to have spots on it. It can be a lot of fun to paint a lure spontaneously...it can also be extremely frustrating. I painted this fishing lure a few weeks ago in spontaneous fashion but it went sideways and looked terrible. This time I tried to keep it fairly simple and while it has elements that I commonly use for shad I added some details that I don't.
