VMware’s Sanjay Poonen joined a roster of business and academic leaders to share his perspective on India-US business opportunities. The conference focused on the changing tech landscape in India and the growing opportunity for US businesses. In his talk, Sanjay shared his journey from India to the US, and his career journey since then. He talked about the founding in Silicon Valley and the meteoric rise of VMware, over the past 2 decades and its growth within India as well. The similarities in the culture and business-DNA between India and the US was another area he shed light on. He emphasized key leadership traits that have propelled many business leaders of Indian-origin to success – smarts, humility, adaptability and hard work.
