Did you know some of the most beloved Disney characters of all time are based off of real actors? I know! That’s crazy, but I guess on some level it makes sense. When drawing or animating a character, it would be logical to either form the character off of the voice actor for authenticity, or use someone else’s likeness as a foundation. I know I personally would be flattered if someone wanted to animate me! Wouldn’t you?

But today’s list isn’t about us, it’s about those famous characters who were actually based or look like real people. Some of them you probably know, like how Genie in Robin Williams was basically tailored and designed completely around Robin Williams, or the Danny Devito/Phil connection in Hercules. But others you might be surprised about. Like did you know Carl Fredricksen from up is actually the spitting image of famous classic actor Spencer Tracy?
