Anti-coup protesters in two cities across Myanmar used fire extinguishers and smoke grenades to create cover during clashes with security forces on Wednesday.
In Yangon, protesters used them as they retreated after shots were heard in Sanchaung.
It comes as Myanmar security forces opened fire on protests against the military rule on Wednesday killing nine people, witnesses and media reported.
At least 21 people have been killed since the Feb. 1 coup against Aung San Suu Kyi's democratically elected government.
