►SCRIPT

Analyzing your tracks will do 3 things.

Number one. It’ll beat grid them properly. So that you when you mix or press the dreaded sync button, the tracks will match perfectly.

Number two. It’ll adjust the tracks internal gain which is basically its volume. So you have to understand that not all tracks have the same inherent volume level. Some are louder and some are just softer.

So by analyzing your track, the software will automatically adjust their inherent volume, so that when you mix, each track will be properly balanced with each other.

And Number 3. It’ll make loading them a lot faster. When you first load a new track, the software will automatically analyze them. And doing so live, may cause your program to slowdown, because analyzing songs take a lot of computer processing power.

Now, most DJ tracks have 32 to 64 beat intros, choruses and outros, and this is all dependent on their genre and BPM.

Anyway, if you plan to mix your next song with it’s 32 beat intro, you must then trigger and play it, either at the current songs’ chorus section or outro section,

But you have to do it on time and at the correct section or beat to get a clean and perfect transition down.

So how I make sure to always mix perfectly on beat and on time, is by cue pointing my tracks.

So I place a total of 3 Cue points.

One at the intro section. So the position of this cue point will be 32 beats away from the end of the intro.

The second one will be at the chorus section. So this cue points’ position will be 32 beats away from the end of the chorus.

And the last one, will be at the beginning of the outro section.

Now if you want to make this process a lot easier and faster, then use the beat jump feature.

This feature allows you to jump any number of beats, forward or backward.

Let’s move on to getting the perfect mix every time.

So the overall goal is to mix cue point A at either the current songs cue point B or C section.

Since our next songs cue point A is 32 beats away from the beginning of the song.

By mixing it at the current songs cue point B section, we will be certain that when the current songs chorus ends, the next songs beginning begins.

And by mixing our next songs cue point A at the current songs cue point C position, we will be certain, that we’re mixing, during the current songs outro section.

So if you want to mix perfectly every time, even with new songs, you have to properly analyze and cue point them.

And I know I know I know. It’s a big hassle but believe me, it’s pretty worth it in the long run,

By doing this tedious process you now also gain the ability to either mix fast or mix slow with any of your songs.

So if you wanna mix fast, then mix at the current songs cue point B position. I usually do this if I see the crowd is not enjoying the current song.

And if you wanna mix slow, then mix at the current songs cue point C position. And I usually do this if I see the crowd is enjoying the current song.
