In all the years I've been driving out to that property in the winter, I've never had such a scary incident happen to me (and it happened twice!). Hopefully it'll never happen again, and I'm thankful it's over. 😊
We had a big snowstorm hit, so lots of snow at the little off-grid cabin. My goal was to complete the loft (enough to put my bed up there), and I was able to do that!

I am questioning the small stove - it definitely burns hot, but it does take a long time to get the place warm when it's -10 C outside. It also requires a lot of 'babysitting' and refilling, but I will stick it out for now. I won't lock myself into it when I get to finishing off that area though, just in case. I do wake up early (between 4-6am) to turn on the little propane heater for an hour or two to take the morning chill off.
I am really happy with how the loft turned out - it's just the right size for me. I am not loving the reclaimed dock lumber in that space as much as I thought I would (just so many competing woods now), but the decorating isn't near done 😝

I've been mulling over ladder ideas now...

Thanks so much for watching and see you in the next video 😊
