Historian Neil Oliver has warned that a breakdown in communication in the current climate could lead to future violence.

Speaking with talkRADIO’s Mike Graham, he said: ‘We forget how close war is. War is almost a natural state of human beings and we’ve lived in relative piece in much of Europe for a long time and we can trick ourselves into thinking that it won’t happen to us.

“It comes when populations can’t talk, when the dialogue breaks down either between nations or between individuals. If there can’t be speech there will be violence.”
