The sound made by the didgeridoo is strongly associated with Australian Aboriginal music, and it's also one of many ingredients that sound designers looked to for inspiration when designing the listening experience of the new Audi e-tron GT sports car, which is hitting the road soon.

While reading up on the newly available press-materials the other evening, I noticed something interesting: there’s a huge amount of information available about how Audi’s technologists and designers worked to create the sound signature of this latest all-electric car – whether the standard or high-performing RS.

Drawing inspiration from things like remote controlled helicopters, electric fans and even the turbine that powers their own wind tunnel, a team of sound experts inside of Audi set off to find, record, and digitize their favourite sounds, then use special software to isolate the best characteristics of each.
