There's a lot we like and a few things we really don't like about these new #Apple headphones. The build quality is great and the spatial audio feature is second to none. If you watch a lot of movies on your #iPhone or iPad, you'll love the #AirPodsMax.

While the AirPods Max are a bit heavier than other premium consumer #headphones, they're quite comfortable. The active noise cancellation is solid, but we're not ready to dub the AirPods Max "King Of Noise Cancellation." Both the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 and Sony XM4 over-ear headphones have a strong case for best active noise cancelling headphones.

The Smart Case is a disaster. It doesn't really protect the AirPods Max at all. The mesh headband is totally exposed, and there are slits at the bottom of the Smart Case which expose your AirPods Max. This could prove extremely problematic if your AirPods Max or Smart Case are exposed to liquid, as neither are water-resistant

It's also ridiculous that Apple didn't include an audio cable for wired listening. That'll cost you an extra $35, if you decide to buy one from the Apple Store.

Overall, we can't justify paying $550 (plus taxes and fees) for these headphones. They have too many flaws and are arguably not as good overall as the Sony XM4 or Bose 700.
