"Animaris Rex" is a kinetic sculpture created by Dutch artist Theo Jansen, known for his wind-powered Strandbeest creations.
It is an 18-meter-long structure described as a "herd of beach animals" that move in harmony.
These creatures, designed to band together, collectively increase their resistance against strong winds and storms.
If left alone, individual units might be vulnerable to the wind, but when interconnected, their collective strength makes them more resilient.
The "Animaris Rex" is primarily constructed from materials such as plastic PVC tubing and PET bottles.
This particular sculpture stands out due to its impressive length and interconnected design, wherein multiple walking units, referred to as "Ordissen," function in unison.
It's designed to move gracefully along the beach, propelled by the wind.
