Being asked for some specifics technically on this one - here goes.
Mixture of technologies used here - both for experimentation with our product line and because I had to (Fil). The AC30 sound is entirely @nembriniaudio7959 DC30 amplifier with integrated Blue Alnico speakers. Doug Fieger's '72 Stratocaster was recorded entirely with a top boost AC30 in the studio for the entirety of the album. Took them 11 days - ONE take for this song (ONE TAKE!). A few overdubs only. Magic band. MUST love The Knack. If you don't, start now. The Fender Stratocaster I used here is a Japanese made (MIJ) 1989, all original. Lovely guitar. 1971 Les Paul Custom WITH our own SD71 (t-top replicas), three of them. Terrific sounding and playing guitar. The Les Paul has been played through our Storm into @BluGuitar Mercury AMP1 Silver. Great stuff from BluGuitar I'll use it more in the future - works great in combination with our gear - Storm AND our Impulse Responses. Bass is a 1965 Gibson EB3 all original. The original bass track WAS NOT played with a Rickenbacker 4001, but with a Guild M85II with hum bucker - THAT IS THE SOUND in combination with an Ampeg BA115! Just great stuff and classic gear.
