Lot easier then dash removal, the die grinder is just best method. Drilling was my thought also, but basically get nice stone tip for a die grinder and get an angle grinder for the job. Also 5.5mm socket for bolts under the 1st cover, also 5 bolts in the second cover 1 is hidden by gas pedal up in corner. Also 5 spots to grind out on 2nd cover.
