The Trivium is the foundation of Zaytuna College’s pedagogical mission. Its constituent disciplines—grammar, logic, and rhetoric, each of which is taught in both the Islamic and Western traditions—are studied and repeatedly practiced by students throughout their four years of study, to achieve excellence in reading, writing, speaking, and reasoning.

Fr. Francisco Nahoe teaches courses on the Trivium at Zaytuna College. He is also a scholar of Renaissance studies, medieval philosophy, and Biblical studies. His other field specialties include Anglo-Saxon and Italian literature, rhetoric, and poetics.
