In this episode, I show how to make a set of puzzle coasters, whose puzzle pieces can be swapped and rearranged to make an endless set of different designs. I show how to make the very simple design in Illustrator, cut the pieces on a laser cutter, and fuse the frame to the background in the simple assembly process. The design I use is a simple but flexible quilt block called 'flying geese'. The simple drawing done in Illustrator is made up of only 2 triangles. I use 3/16" opaque and transparent acrylic for the pieces, and the white background is 1/8" acrylic. These coasters would make great gifts!
