The intent of these videos are to aid by providing content for those, mainly having an interest in the repurpose of antiquated analog receivers formerly refered to as "police scanners" and their continued validity. Yes, you can listen to many services that are not digitally encrypted. We are aware of many jurisdictions making the change and the subject is as beaten as a dead horse. There is reclamation of crystal and solid state scanners across the globe. Many have harvested these units and scores of crystals, even transmission crystals for the continuance of not only scanners but also in the hobby of amateur radio. Further, many like myself and many others, would never have been licensed if it were not for the open, verbal invitation to join a local club, during a routine ragchewing net on a local club repeater.


It's been brought to my attention that many will not connect with me on certain repeaters because I "record people's conversations". It's interesting how conversation is held not only in free space, on frequencies allotted for license holders issued by the FCC and having proven skills to earn said license and operate within the confines of those rules. It's just as interesting to understand also that, no matter where one is as long as one is near one or more FCC regulated devices, under different services and different rules that the same can be monitored by same said equipment by the government, it's subsidiaries, private corporations and even hackers.

As much as I can remember, no secrets of any kind have been exposed of one party to another. No federal rule or law has been broken. These analog services, with the exception of paid dues to the MRA for the use of their systems, are open and clear for use by anyone holding an appropriate license class, a technician license.

Yet, this particular hobby has led to a particular investigation into issues with various equipment and possible information important to those that may be interested, whether or not already presently known. This information may already be unwelcome when it is received. Hopefully, the opposite will and perhaps, by some stroke of grace, it will be perceived as assistance, and not interference.

It would seem that there is. loss of some sort in connection between 224.520Mhz and 927.050Mhz repeaters. This in no form criticism but a video and audio record of an issue, hopefully known already, easily remedied and offers no offense to trustees and members of the corporation.

This transmission was received on two independent RadioShack Pro-2052, one ground plane antenna and one rubber duck. No other devices in the shack have been found to cause interference, nor from downtown Richmond.
