Why should children be taught sign language?

In most instances, your average person won't come across those who communicate with sign language very often. That means that most of us will have no natural reason to learn it.

However, people who cannot communicate with spoken language do exist, and they face struggles every day, as they will find it difficult to communicate with the vast majority of people they interact with.

Teaching your kids how to communicate with everyone can not only give them a useful new skill in sign language, but it also means that there is one more person out there who can sign.
