The all-new, 6th generation 2024 Toyota 4Runner is likely to get the 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine with and without hybrid system. This new turbo 4 is currently used in the 2022 Lexus NX. Automotive Engineer David Chao drives and compares this engine to the existing 4.0L V-6 engine in the 2022 4Runner to see what the differences in feel are between the two engines.

The 2.4L turbo in the 2022 Lexus NX will likely be tuned and calibrated differently for the 2024 4Runner, but we should be able to get a very good feel for the engine's performance and driving characteristic by taking out the Lexus NX on the road. David test drives and evaluates the Lexus NX to see how it stand out in terms of power, torque, and road feel and whether or not buyers will be happy with the transition from the V-6 engine to the 4-cylinder engine.

Is it good enough for the new 2024 Toyota 4Runner? Please watch to find out! The new gen 4Runner should debut sometimes in 2023 calendar year as the 2024 model year vehicle.
