Notan - Exploring Shape and Composition

 Published On Oct 26, 2014

Mitchell Albala's workshop, "Exploring Composition through Shape and Notan" has helped popularize the notan and redefine how it can be used by contemporary artists. In this brief talk, excerpted from a presentation given at Lisa Harris Gallery in 2015, Mitchell discusses the notan as a means of defining shape and pattern.
