Harley-Davidson big bore kits are a staple of the performance market, there's no replacement for displacement and the camshaft can only do so much. Even the best cam in your bike will run out of steam when you run out of displacement. The bigger the engine the more heat it's going to generate especially on an air cooled motor right? That's only partially correct, with a Harley-Davidson big bore you theoretically will get more heat the real heat source lies in the compression you choose to run. Higher compression equals more power but more heat, less compression is less power but a cooler running engine. Harley-Davidson big bore engines are a delicate balance between power, compression and power output.
