In the south of Algeria, in the red desert of the Touat and Gourara regions, lies Timimoun "the flamboyant", one of the most beautiful oases in Africa.

Here, the inhabitants devote their everyday life to the foggaras: a thousand-year-old irrigation system respectful of the environment, but threatened with disappearance by modern techniques that are much less so.

The gardeners of the desert who perpetuate this tradition are also known for their hospitality. In the Berber cultural tradition, a traveller is always made welcome.
