UPDATE FROM JANUARY 13, 2021: Last night, Lisa Montgomery became the first woman to be executed by the federal government since 1953.

Over a thousand advocates are calling for an eleventh-hour intervention from President Trump before the first federal execution of a woman in 67 years.

Lisa Montgomery, a woman whose life has been marred by years of sexual abuse and mental illness, has been serving a life sentence in federal prison since murdering a pregnant woman more than 15 years ago.
