An update on how the Chinese Lantern VAWT has performed over the last few weeks. In a nutshell, it has produced something on the order of 1 Wh over three or so weeks. It struggles to go fast enough to produce a high enough voltage for charging. And the boost converter in the charge controller does not appear to be effective. It takes a lot of wind to get any sort of power out of this turbine, and it is quite useless in this application with its modest winds.
