FinTech Review: with Jemima Kelly (FT Alphaville) and Jeff Lynn (Seedrs)

Why you should watch: Even as we face a second wave of Covid lockdowns, activity in the FinTech space is heating up again. One big story is the merger of Jeff Lynn's Seedrs with Crowdcube, to create a brand-new equity trading platform. But there's more to talk about - e.g. Ant's move into payments (and into the 'Antchain'), the surge in SPACs (including a SPAC ETF), the story of Jonathan Rowland's 'bitcoin bank', the relaunch of 'Monzo 2.0', and the EU's attempt to set rules for crypto assets. Plus, a little whinge about Nvidia's proposed takeover of ARM. Looking ahead, what will a Democratic Administration in the US mean for the tech giants?

Jemima Kelly is a reporter for FT Alphaville, who is carving out a niche as one of the FT's best informed writers on tech issues more broadly.

Jeff Lynn is the Executive Chairman and co-founder of Seedrs, an equity platform that has so far raised almost £1 billion through almost 1,200 deals since it launched in 2012. He is also the Vice-chairman of the European Crowdfunding Network, and Chairman of Coadec.
