Today we are examining my 2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage. The battery is located behind the passenger seat, inside the car. So is that where you should hook up jumper cables or a trickle charger? No, that would be uncivilized!

There are two duplicate battery posts (red and black) located under the hood for that purpose. In this video I show you how to locate them, perform a multimeter read and jump start or charge the battery. I also show you how to locate the trickle charger outlet in the trunk, which is where you can plug in the included Aston Martin branded trickle charger that came with the car (really a rebranded CTEK MXS 5.0 - available on Amazon and elsewhere).

The only reason to access the battery in the trunk is when you need to replace it, which at 53 pounds will hopefully not be often. Make sure to keep the battery on a trickle charger to extend its life!

Note: The Vantage is a 2 seater car. Other models like the DB9, DBS, Vanquish, etc. that are 4 seaters have a different battery location though quite similar (under rear passenger seat cushion) so the charging and jump starting locations and methods featured in this video generally still apply.
