In this episode, I describe my first foray into FDM 3D printing. Having been introduced to 3D printing through resin printing, I had a particular set of skills and expectations that were not necessarily a good fit with the FDM experience. I show how I moved up the learning curve, troubleshooting bed leveling and model support problems. I talk about upgrading the standard springs under the bed to silicone spacers, about adding gcode to the machine settings so my auto-leveling system actually helps, and about issues with the auto supports provided in the Creality slicer. I show projects I make along the way, and give a sneak peak at new components I sculpted in Blender for an upcoming project. I give my final verdict, and have some suggestions for Creality to make the user experience better!
