If you're reading this, it's too late. SUVs and crossovers have taken over, and while that's a tough pill to swallow, physics-defying uber SUVs — like the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk — makes things a bit more palatable. Not that it justifies this brute's existence; no family truckster needs 707 horsepower. No family truckster needs to be this fast and loud. No family truckster needs a 300+ km/h top speed.

Ah, but there's a distinct difference between need and want, isn't there? While the Dodge Durango recently stole all the headlines as the latest practical vehicle in FCA's lineup to receive the Hellcat-all-the-things treatment, it's certainly not the first. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk gets to wear that feather in its cap; although it's been around for the better part of three years, the Trackhawk is an absolutely ludicrous machine that dances the fine line between logic and brutality.
