We've got a pond in our backyard chuck full of nutrients and essentials for my garden. We will install a pitcher pump (hand pump) to draw water out of the pond in order to water my garden. Very basic set up and anyone can do it. Those of you with talent can probably make this a very elaborate set up, I'm sure! But for now, this works for us...
