I spend a week with the 2020 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk with its new 1.3L 4 cylinder turbo engine and discover that while the Renegade is still unique and fun in this quickly expanding subcompact SUV segment, it requires some compromises. If you're interested in off-road performance or the Jeep character, the Renegade is still a great choice, but with many newer and more impressive competitors offering more features for less money, the Renegade is now becoming a tougher sell as it ages.
